Early key matchups in the 2010 SEC season
I am already looking forward to the beginning of the 2010 SEC football season. There will be several excellent games to watch throughout the season. In the SEC there always are!!! Here’s a list of some of the early games and why I think they are important.
1. Georgia at South Carolina – For the Dawgs its an early test. No matter what, the Gamecocks always play the Dawgs tough. If the Dawgs win its a good start – if they lose, the Dawg nation will scream! Very loudly. A win for the Gamecocks would be a huge lift for the program. Spurrier dispises UGA.
2. Penn State at Alabama – Why play the National Championship the second week of the season? All I have to say – Man! WHAT A GAME!!!
3. Clemson at Auburn – a week 3 game. ACC vs. SEC. I predict Clemson will be down in 2010. Auburn should take care of business.
4. Florida at Alabama – Week 4. Alabama will be tested early by Penn State – Florida not so much. What a powder puff schedule for the Gators. I think the entire FL program is taking a leave of absence in 2010!!!
5. Oregon at Tennessee – The Vols have back to back tough games. They open with UCLA (away) then the Oregon Ducks at home. The Ducks and Vols, the Nittany Lions and the Tide – All on the same weekend. Wow – good stuff.
6. Alabama at Ole Miss – Rebel fans will have to wait until week 6 to see what ya got. Up to then things are relatively easy. If the Rebels and the Tide at both 5 – 0 at that point – it will be a good one.
7. Mississippi State vs their first 4 opponents!!! – Memphis, Auburn, LSU then UGA. Who signed them up for this!!! Yuck!
8. Alabama at Arkansas – Week 4 game – always enjoyable to watch. Both teams should come in undefeated.
9. Vanderbilt – it is hard to look at a team’s schedule and say every opponent is better than they are – but in Vandy’s case it’s the truth. Sorry guys but 2010 is going to be tough!!!
I wish the season started tomorrow.
